Controllers with an integrated OPC UA server, such as controllers from B&R, Beckhoff or the RFID reader from Harting, can be easily integrated into existing OPC Classic environments. According to the manufacturer, this allows users to implement Industry 4.0 solutions step by step using their existing OPC Classic components. This version provides customers with a solution for easy migration from OPC Classic to OPC UA. The software also offers logger functionality for OPC UA servers, which can be used to save process data from a controller with an integrated OPC UA server to a file or database. Thanks to the OPC UA client functionality, the tool not only acts as a gateway between OPC Classic and OPC UA applications, but also as a central gateway between several OPC UA servers and clients. The OPC UA clients only need to connect to one OPC UA server or only one aggregated OPC UA address space needs to be managed.
