The more data servers process, the more heat they emit. Data centers therefore need a lot of energy to cool their operating rooms. The software developed by
Dr. Pornsak Songkakul (57) determines exactly which server racks already have a high room temperature. It then recommends that the server management system automatically directs new computing loads to the servers where the ambient temperature is favorable. Thanks to this intelligent building automation, the enormous energy requirements of data centers are reduced. The inventor Songkakul works at Siemens Building Technologies in Buffalo Grove, lllinois, USA.
