Siemens submitted over 7,600 inventions and 3,700 patents in fiscal year 2015. Nine particularly resourceful researchers were also involved in this, who the industrial group recently named 'Inventor of the Year 2015'.

Gas turbines from Siemens are constantly undergoing further development. The aim is to increase their efficiency.
Dr Ghenadie Bulat (35) from Siemens Power & Gas in Lincoln, UK, makes an important contribution to this: since 2010, the combustion control system optimized by Bulat has been standard in the Siemens SGT-100, -200, -300 and -400 gas turbines. Ten years ago, Bulat began developing algorithms that can automatically make settings in the combustion chamber by analyzing sensor data on temperature and pressure. "It worked very well: the turbine had fewer breakdowns, produced electricity more efficiently and emissions were reduced," Bulat recalls. Since then, he has continued to improve the control system for the combustion chamber.
