Siemens has announced its figures for the third quarter of 2016. On the positive side, earnings in the industrial business increased by 20% compared to the same quarter of the previous year. The negative: Things are anything but going well in the Process Industries & Drives business unit.

In the Digital Factory Division, Siemens recorded continued growth in order intake and revenue in the product lifecycle management (PLM) software business, supported by the acquisition of CD-Adapco, which was completed in April 2016. Siemens acquired the US software company for around USD 970 million and is currently integrating it into its own PLM software business.
