The integrated robotics function for the "Codesys Development System" from 3S-Smart Software Solutions is a supplement to the "SoftMotion" solution and includes an axis group configurator for preparing robot movements. The range of functions of Codesys SoftMotion CNC+Robotics has now been extended: program blocks in accordance with PLCopen for Motion Control Part 4 enable, among other things, motion execution of robot axis groups on predefined paths. This allows linear or circular motion segments to be dynamically specified by the IEC 61131-3 application program at runtime and executed on suitable controllers. The "continuous path" and "point-to-point" robot movements independently observe the limit values of the robot axes used and can be easily interrupted, for example in the event of obstacles. The solution is currently being submitted to PLCopen for certification.
