Dassault Systèmes will be showcasing the new Solidworks 2017 version, which offers new capabilities aimed at paperless manufacturing and supported by model-based definition (MBD) and printed circuit board (PCB) design. Users should be able to increase their productivity with simulations by analysing the functionalities of their designs, eliminating possible errors, visualizing and verifying them even before the first prototype has been created. According to the manufacturer, new tools can be used to improve collaboration with suppliers and customers. In addition, dynamic product data management (PDM) enables greater support for teams working remotely and across different locations. A new feature is the rapid detection of stress hotspots for immediate feedback on whether the model or mesh needs to be modified for more accurate results.
