Positive results for the fourth quarter and fiscal year 2019 at Siemens: According to Siemens CEO Joe Kaeser, the majority of industrial businesses contributed to growth - despite a decline in demand for factory automation and motion control.

Strong year-end spurt at 'Digital Industries': Double-digit percentage growth in the software business and a significant increase in the process automation business led to an overall rise in revenue at 'Digital Industries'. Both businesses recorded growth in incoming orders, supported by positive currency translation effects and additional volume from recent acquisitions. In contrast, the factory automation and motion control businesses were faced with declining demand, particularly from the automotive and mechanical engineering industries. In geographical terms, higher sales revenue in the Americas and Asia, Australia regions outweighed a decline in Europe, CIS, Africa, Middle East (Europe/GANO). For the 2020 financial year, sales revenue is expected to be on a par with the previous year.
