SiemensFirst half-year lays foundation for strong financial year
Siemens has announced its figures for the second quarter of 2019 and recorded increases in order intake and sales as well as a record order backlog.

In the Digital Factory, there was strong order growth in the software business. However, this was offset by declines in the automation business due to lower demand (primarily from the automotive and mechanical engineering industries) and a weaker propensity to invest, particularly in regions that have made strong contributions to growth in previous periods, such as China. Revenue growth was driven by the software business (including license revenue), while revenue in the automation businesses remained at approximately the same level as the previous year.
