The third quarter was "solid", announces Joe Kaeser, CEO of Siemens. In concrete terms, this means sales growth, an increase in profit - but also a decline in order intake.

The Power and Gas division recorded a sharp drop in the volume of major orders, particularly in the Americas reporting region. With declining markets, there was a decrease in sales revenue in all reporting regions, mainly due to the weaker order intake in previous periods. The decline was particularly noticeable in the business with large gas turbines and compressors. In addition, global energy trends continue to depress general demand in the markets served by the division.
