Functionally expanded

Turck is expanding the functionalities of the TBEN-S-RFID Ethernet/RFID interfaces. A free firmware update is available for the block I/O modules with IP67 protection, which offers functions such as the license-free 'Argee' programming environment.

With this field logic controller (FLC) function, users have the option of executing small to medium-sized control tasks directly on the block I/O module and thus outsourcing them decentrally. This reduces the load on the controller and enables only relevant data to be transferred. The block I/O module can be connected to PLC systems without a special function block. Another new feature is the automatic addressing of the bus-compatible HF RFID read/write heads by simply activating the read/write head addresses in the parameters of the data interface. This saves users time compared to conventional methods, as they can connect the read/write heads one after the other and address them automatically. In addition, bus addresses for bus-capable HF read/write heads can be set and queried via the block I/O module using the web server/pactware. This allows users to quickly check the correct commissioning of the bus mode without using an interface converter.
