Mitsubishi Electric
Controls for CNC machining
With the M8V series, Mitsubishi Electric has launched a range of controllers for CNC machining. A new feature is the WLAN integrated into the CNC control.
The M8V series was specially designed to support digital transformation and, according to Mitsubishi Electric, creates the conditions for intelligent manufacturing applications. Thanks to the direct Wi-Fi connection, the models are suitable for Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) environments in automated production. Users can access the CNC machines anytime and anywhere using connected devices such as tablets. An interactive display supports 4-point multi-touch gestures and can be operated in a similar way to a smartphone. The intuitive design makes it easier for operators to control and monitor the most important machining parameters. The Job-Lathe wizard, which guides the user through installation and setup, also simplifies programming, so that even employees without G-code knowledge have no problem using the control, according to the manufacturer.
The M8V CNC series combines a CPU specially optimized for CNC with OMR-CC (Optimum Machine Response - Contour Control) control and automatic Cutting Load Control (CLC). The processing speed of the NC program now reaches up to 540,000 instruction blocks per minute.
