Certified virtual Safety PLC in accordance with IEC 61508 SIL3 - now also with FSoE
The CODESYS highlight at the SPS 2025 trade fair is the virtual safety controller in the container certified by TÜV Süd in accordance with IEC 61508 SIL3 - on any number of devices. New: Now also on ARM-based systems and with FSoE.
The virtual CODESYS controllers can be installed on any platform with a container - in different performance classes and multiple instances if required, on local devices, PCs, servers or even cloud platforms. The certified safety controller for SIL3 applications in accordance with IEC 61508 can now be used with FSoE (EtherCAT Safety) - from 2026 even on ARM-based architectures. The abstraction of machine controllers to virtual PLCs significantly reduces the effort required for acquisition, commissioning, expansion, maintenance and decommissioning.
The established Industry 4.0 management platform CODESYS Automation Server can now also be optionally installed in private clouds. With convenient functions for administration, data analysis, remote maintenance and diagnostics of controllers in local and distributed networks as well as for orchestrating and managing virtual controllers, the platform simplifies the daily tasks of automation engineers. Important features for IT security in the automation network: comprehensive management of security certificates for integrated controllers. This includes proactive notification of expiring certificates and certification authority.
In addition: Sneak preview of the new browser-based CODESYS programming environment CODESYS go! A first release is planned for the end of 2025.

At the SPS trade fair, the CODESYS Group will be demonstrating the simple use and management of virtual controllers for functional and functionally safe applications in live demonstrations.
