Application start for Hermes Award 2016
Deutsche Messe, organizer of the Hannover Messe, has announced the Hermes Award 2016. Companies and institutions that are presenting their product for the first time at the Hannover Messe can now apply for this industry award.
Every year, Deutsche Messe presents the Hermes Award to a product that represents a technological innovation and is on show for the first time at the Hannover Messe. The products submitted must already be industrially tested and/or in industrial use. An independent jury under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Wahlster(DFKI) will then evaluate them with regard to their technical and economic implementation. The application deadline is February 24, 2016.
The Hermes Award is endowed with a PR package with a total value of around 100,000 euros. All award winners from previous years would benefit from the award, as it "attracts international attention and therefore has a positive effect on the development of the respective company," said Dr. Jochen Köckler, Member of the Board of Deutsche Messe.
The Hermes Award 2014 was presented to Wittenstein. The company received the award for its 'Galaxie' high-performance gearbox, a new type of mechanical gearbox with Industry 4.0 connectivity.
