logi.cals
Also for safety and special controls
In addition to the IEC-61131-3-compliant PLC runtime logi.RTS 3 for Linux, VxWorks or RTOS32 controllers, logi.cals offers further runtime systems for specific areas of application.
The logi.μRTS micro runtime system is usually used on systems without an operating system (bare-metal) or with limited system resources. OEM customers who want to implement the execution of the PLC application themselves use the nano runtime system. This allows them to continue using their special solution, which is usually developed in-house. In this way, they offer their customers a PLC function as a feature extension in order to be able to use tried-and-tested solutions for new market segments.
Two new variants are the logi.iRTS interpreter runtime system, which processes the PLC code interpretively and is designed for applications in the field of pragmatic functional safety. For controllers based on an ARMv8 similar to the Raspberry Pi 4 or the imx8q, the 64-bit version of logi.RTS is available, which, according to the manufacturer, is equipped with an Ethercat master from Acontis as standard.
With the solutions presented, the PLC runtime family has been rounded off and now offers consistency from the microcontroller to the ARM64/X86 64-bit world with and without functional safety. Standard communication paths such as MQTT, OPCUA or data exchange via inter-process communication are available.
