Painful cuts

Wave of redundancies announced for Kontron

Kontrons' new restructuring program includes the reduction of around 300 jobs - almost a quarter of the workforce.

The aim of the program is to achieve a significant improvement in earnings in the high double-digit million range over the next one and a half years. Another important component of the program is the regional alignment of the corporate structure (EMEA, APAC, North America) with corresponding profit responsibility for the individual regions. The new structure should enable Kontron to expand its market access and strengthen its customer base.

In addition, Kontron intends to continue to benefit from the cooperation with its strategic partner Ennoconn and the new anchor shareholder S&T. Kontron intends to offer customers an integrated hardware and software portfolio as well as extended services in the future. The company has also decided to apply for the court appointment of Rainer Neuwirth, Michael Jeske and Michael Roider to fill the vacant seats on the Supervisory Board, after Rainer Erlat, Harald Joachim Joos and Martin Bertinchamp resigned from the Supervisory Board on November 30.
