Embedded systemsNew products at embedded world 2017
In mid-March, the Nuremberg exhibition halls made room for everything to do with embedded systems technology. Computer&AUTOMATION presents a selection of new products that were on show at the embedded world 2017 stands.

Renesas' new RX65N and RX651 MCUs feature a 40nm RXv2 CPU core that delivers a computing performance of 516 according to the CoreMark® score. At an operating current of 15 mA, the power performance is 34.4 CoreMark/mA, which is up to five times higher than comparable 32-bit MCUs in the 120 MHz clock frequency class. With 1 MByte flash memory and 256 kByte RAM, software can be developed that runs exclusively in the internal memory. This means that the software for executing communication middleware for network connections and for the buffer memory can be stored exclusively in the integrated memory. This means that the CPU does not have to access external memory, which reduces power consumption and therefore enables a longer battery life. According to the manufacturer, the 40 nm process enables five times higher energy efficiency than competing MCUs in the same class and significantly longer battery life.
