DLR Institute launched to analyze huge amounts of data

A new DLR institute was opened in Jena at the end of August 2017. It will focus on the analysis and handling of large amounts of data generated in the course of digitalization.

Pascale Ehrenfreund, Chairman of the Executive Board of the German Aerospace Center (DLR), and Thuringia's Economics Minister Wolfgang Tiefensee (SPD) opened the new institute. It will focus on the management and processing of increasing data volumes with a view to the requirements of industry and the further development of the Internet. Its establishment was supported by the federal state of Thuringia. According to earlier information, the Ministry of Science expects to create around 100 jobs in the final stage of expansion.
