Mouser
Accelerated device development for IIoT applications
Mouser is expanding its range to include the 'Nitrogen8M Plus SMARC' from Boundary Devices, a system-on-module (SoM) in accordance with the SMARC 2.1 industry standard.
In combination with the SMARC carrier board, the 'Nitrogren8M Plus SMARC' serves as a single-board computer which, according to Mouser, can significantly accelerate the time-to-market of products. The SoM combines the i.MX 8M Plus application processor from NXP Semiconductors, the PCA9450 PMIC from NXP and the Sterling-LWB5+ Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2 combo radio module from Laird Connectivity, which is based on the CYW43439 SoC from Infineon. The WLAN performance of the component also ensures lower latency times for artificial intelligence (AI) applications. The Quad Arm Cortex-A53 processors are integrated with an NPU of 2.3 TOPS, which significantly accelerates machine learning. The image processing engine consists of two MIPI CSI camera inputs and an HDR-capable image signal processor (ISP) with 375 megapixels per second. The SoM is suitable for a wide range of IIoT applications, such as handheld devices, gateways and image processing solutions. It also accelerates device design for applications such as smart cities, smart homes and healthcare.
