Avnu Alliance / TSN
Silicon Task Group initiated
Leading chip manufacturers want to promote TSN interoperability under the umbrella of the Avnu Alliance.
The Avnu Alliance, the industry consortium driving open, standards-based deterministic networking, has announced a new initiative to advance TSN interoperability in the networking ecosystem. The Silicon Validation Task Group will bring together silicon and IP companies such as Analog Devices, Intel, Keysight Technologies, Microchip, NXP Semiconductors, Texas Instruments and TTTech to ensure that the TSN features of the various profiles are compatible with each other.
The new working group will enable competitors to jointly develop a test ecosystem for the TSN capabilities of silicon and IP products at the component level - and supporting software. Group members will collaborate on activities such as developing test plans, creating validation tools and organizing plugfests.
The Silicon Validation Task Group members have come together to address the fact that silicon level interoperability is required to enable higher level specialization. TSN applications include markets such as ProAV, automotive, industrial manufacturing and aerospace. Basic interoperability at the component level facilitates device interoperability across different applications and profiles, including IEEE/IEC 60802 for industrial applications and IEEE 802.1BA for ProAV, as well as future profiles under development.
