With over 200 presentations, the embedded world Conference 2021 DIGITAL offers a program that is as extensive as it is in-depth. For the first time, participants will also have the opportunity to listen to parallel presentations, as all presentations can be viewed as recordings during and in the two weeks following the live phase of the event. Thanks to the extension to five days, the electronic displays Conference can be held without parallel sessions this year. In terms of content, the digital format will continue what has proven its worth in the analog format: professional expertise and topicality, interdisciplinarity, internationality and versatility.

Five freely accessible keynotes for all participants

The public keynote speeches are also highlights of the conferences in digital format. These are free of charge for all embedded world 2021 DIGITAL participants. The following keynote speakers are scheduled in the program:
March 1, 10:15 a.m.: Dr. Reinhard Ploss, CEO Infineon
March 2, 10:15 a.m.: Prof. Dr.-Ing. Peter Liggesmeyer, TU Kaiserslautern and Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering
March 3, 10:15 a.m.: Paul Gray, Senior Research Manager, Omdia (part of Informa Technology)
March 3, 3:30 p.m.: Randall Restle, Strategic Advisor, Digi-Key
March 4, 3:30 p.m.: Kevin Dallas, CEO Wind River

Topics on the pulse of technical development

"Embedded systems are a cross-sectional technology that encompasses many aspects. The range of topics at the embedded world Conference is correspondingly broad: Internet-of-Things, hardware, software and systems engineering, safety and security, system-on-chip design, embedded vision, human-machine interaction, wired and wireless data transmission and autonomous systems," explains Prof. Dr.-Ing. Axel Sikora, Offenburg University of Applied Sciences and Chairman of the embedded world Conference.

This year again, most of the contributions were submitted on the topic of software and systems engineering. As a result, this area takes up a lot of space at the conference and is represented throughout each day. The topic area "Internet of Things" has also become a perennial favorite. The great response from speakers and participants shows that IoT systems are a megatrend in the embedded industry. The topic of "Autonomous Systems", under which artificial intelligence and machine learning are bundled at the embedded world conference, has experienced a significant growth spurt. This shows that these technologies are now increasingly moving from the research and prototype stage into application. However, the embedded world Conference also offers a platform for proven special topics such as the development of application-specific chips, embedded vision or human-machine interfaces.

Panel discussions and classes

In panel discussions on the topics of embedded artificial intelligence, safety and security, embedded vision and connectivity in IoT, trend topics will be discussed in a lively manner. Participants will also be able to get involved. In addition to the half-hour presentations, there will once again be a class format. Here, a topic is dealt with in depth in a smaller group for half a day or a whole day.

electronic displays Conference 2021 DIGITAL: specialist knowledge for display experts

"The electronic displays Conference stands for top-class know-how from experts for experts. It is undoubtedly the most important European B2B platform for display technologies, which powerfully demonstrates the innovative strength and dynamism of the display industry," says Prof. Dr. Karlheinz Blankenbach, Pforzheim University of Applied Sciences and Chairman of the Conference Advisory Board. This year's electronic displays Conference 2021 will once again demonstrate the importance of displays as a central and innovative component of embedded systems.

Highlights of 2021 include numerous keynotes on display markets and new display technologies and applications as well as the many sessions on automotive displays. This will be rounded off by a large number of top-class presentations on micro-LEDs, OLEDs, touch, gesture control and haptic interfaces as well as display measurement technology and the optimization of displays. The virtual format means that there are no parallel sessions, so that all presentations can be viewed.
