The aim of the cooperation is to connect the OPC UA ecosystem with international data spaces to enable secure and controlled data exchange.

The OPC Foundation connects the largest ecosystem for semantic interoperability in the automation world through OPC UA with over 150 semantic domain standards. This comprehensive framework ensures seamless communication and integration between different automation systems, promoting a better connected and more efficient industrial environment. The IDSA complements this approach with a governance structure that regulates who can access data and under what conditions. This ensures secure and controlled data exchange.

On April 2, 2025, the "OPC Foundation Cloud Initiative" conference will take place from 13:00 to 15:00 in the Hannover Messe Convention Center, Room 3A. Directly afterwards, IDSA is organizing the event "Data Spaces for Industry" together with the VDMA from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m. in the Convention Center Room Berlin.
