Murrelektronik
Hybrid safety module for Ethernet I/P
Murrelektronik expands the 'MVK Fusion' family with the 'MVK Fusion CIP Safety'.
The hybrid 'MVK Fusion' fieldbus modules combine three elementary functions of installation technology: digital standard sensors and actuators, digital safety-related sensors and actuators and IO-Link. This approach means that system planners require fewer fieldbus modules per modular unit, which reduces installation costs. The new module is based on the 'Common Industrial Protocol Safety', or CIP Safety for short. CIP Safety enables the transmission of safety-relevant data in real time and, as an extension of the CIP protocol, is used specifically to integrate safety functions into new or existing automation systems instead of setting up separate safety networks. Murrelektronik uses M 12 Power L-coded connectors for the new modules. The modules are parameterized in the controller manufacturer's engineering tool, so that no special manufacturer tool is required to transfer the SNN (Safety Network Number) and the parameterization to a new device. The safe output port X3 provides flexibility for the actuators: it can be used either as two PP (plus plus) switching outputs, one PM (plus minus) switching output or the combination PPM (plus plus minus) switching output. Thanks to the channel granularity, all ports can be adapted to specific requirements. The modules have a robust, fully encapsulated metal housing, are shock and vibration resistant, meet protection class IP67 and are specified for temperatures from -30 to +60°C as standard. In addition, all modules permanently monitor each individual channel for faults such as overload, sensor short circuit or cable break.
