Monitor, control and simulate CAN buses
Version 6 of the Windows software PCAN-Explorer from Peak-System for monitoring, controlling and simulating CAN buses has been released. In addition to CAN 2.0 A/B, the software supports the CAN FD standard with up to 64 data bytes per CAN message.
Another new feature is the ability to play back previously recorded CAN traces on a connected CAN bus.
The configuration of the symbolic representation of CAN messages has also been revised. Signals are used to define the representation of the user data that is generated and then assigned to the individual CAN messages. Previous symbol definitions can still be used and can be converted to the new format if required.
In general, the software allows the use of flexible, configurable filters for incoming and outgoing CAN messages as well as for recordings. Small tasks or complex processes can be automated using macros or VBScript. The functionality of the tool can be extended using add-ins.
