Hanover Fair 2018Festo shows self-learning workstation
Festo has given an outlook on its digitalization activities: In addition to bionics projects, the company will be presenting a self-learning workstation for human-robot collaboration at the Hannover Messe 2018.

With the 'BionicWorkplace', Festo is presenting a self-learning workplace for human-robot collaboration. This is designed to combine the advantages of the pneumatic lightweight robot BionicCobot with IT systems from the field of artificial intelligence. It is equipped with several assistance systems and peripheral devices that are networked and communicate with each other. In addition to artificial intelligence, machine learning methods turn the 'BionicWorkplace' into a learning and anticipatory system that continuously optimizes itself. Humans can interact directly with the BionicCobot and control it through movement, touch or speech. Remote manipulation of the system is also possible. This efficient and safe human-robot collaboration should enable the production of individual products down to batch size 1.
