Where do companies use artificial intelligence (AI)? What are the benefits of using AI technologies? Answers are provided by the international study "Amplifying Human Potential: Towards Purposeful Artificial Intelligence", the results of which Infosys has now published.

... a "field of computer science that focuses on the creation of intelligent machines that work and react like humans". They see computers with AI technology performing tasks such as speech recognition, learning processes, planning and problem solving. They identified the automation of big data processes (65%) and predictive and prescriptive analytics (54%) as the most frequently used AI applications at present. On average, the companies surveyed have been using AI technologies for two years and have invested USD 6.7 million (around EUR 6.2 million) in AI in the last year. AI is mostly used in the IT department (69%), followed by operations (34%), business development (33%), marketing (29%) and sales and customer service (28%).
