Fieldbus connection made easy
The PCIe and PCIe mini card series Ixxat Inpact from HMS enables the connection of customer-specific applications to fieldbus and industrial Ethernet systems. In addition to Profibus, Profinet, Ethercat, Ethernet/IP, Powerlink and Modbus-TCP are supported.
Typical applications include the coupling of devices/subsystems with higher-level networks, the visualization of process data in control stations or machines, flexible gateway solutions and data acquisition in test benches, test systems or service tools. The multi-network capability of the cards is based on the provider's 'Anybus-CompactCom' technology. The FPGA-based 'Anybus-NP40' network processor contains all the functions required to handle communication between the industrial Ethernet or fieldbus network and the customer's PC application. The FPGA has very low latency times and deterministic real-time behavior. With 'Ixxat Inpact DPV1 Slave', the PCIe mini version of the card is now available in a Profibus protocol version - with Profibus Sub-D9 bus interface. The connection to the other supported networks is made via corresponding RJ45 Ethernet interfaces (10/100 Mbit) and via SC-RJ connections for Profinet Fiber Optic. In addition to the version with a dedicated Profibus network protocol, the Industrial Ethernet version is also available as an 'Inpact CE' version, an open version in which the desired Industrial Ethernet protocol can be selected by the user and loaded into the card.
