Bridge to IO-Link Wireless

Hilscher has expanded its IO-Link wireless portfolio with the netField Device IO-Link Wireless Bridge. The bridge connects all IO-Link Class A sensors to an IO-Link wireless master of the user's choice and thus integrates them into Real-Time Ethernet systems.

The solution offers real-time communication with transmission cycles of up to 5 ms and a wireless range of up to 10 m for point-to-point communication. Cable costs and potential sources of error, such as cable breaks, are minimized. Users receive software support from Hilscher during implementation, including tools for configuring the IO-Link devices.

The counterpart to the IO-Link Wireless Bridge is the netField Device IO-Link Wireless Master from Hilscher. This IO-Link wireless master is based on the existing IO-Link standard according to IEC 61131-9 and allows the connection of a total of 16 sensors and actuators, twice as many as conventional wired IO-Link masters. Users can currently use the master in Profinet, Ethernet/IP or Ethercat networks.
