"If you want to be at the forefront of innovation, you can't be satisfied with the standard" - this attitude earned Hans-Gerd Brummel, who works at Siemens Power Generations Services in Berlin, the title of "Inventor of the Year 2016" in the "Lifetime Achievement" category. He is responsible for many technologies for optimizing the operation of gas turbines: The 61-year-old is one of the fathers of remote diagnostics and remote maintenance for large gas turbines, for example, and recently developed a self-learning system for burner adjustment.
