Siemens' Digital Factory (DF) business saw double-digit growth in both sales and incoming orders in the second quarter. The strongest contributions to growth came from the product lifecycle management software business and the factory automation business. There was also strong demand as a result of the acquisition of Mentor Graphics in 2017. Overall, according to Siemens, earnings and profitability were impacted by ongoing expenses for investments in the MindSphere platform.
