Kaspersky Lab is launching Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity, a solution for protecting critical infrastructure systems and industrial facilities. The tool protects ICS (Industrial Control Systems) networks against cyber attacks without compromising the operational continuity and consistency of technological processes. The following areas within an industrial control system can be protected: ICS or SCADA servers, PLCs, HMI panels and control and operator workstations. The tool uses a combination of conventional security technologies that have been adapted for ICS environments, such as anti-malware protection, whitelisting and vulnerability management. These basic components are supplemented by technologies specifically designed for industrial environments, including integrity control (for example for PLC programs or technological processes) or semantic monitoring of process control commands as well as data for detecting cyber attacks targeting physical components of an infrastructure. A special monitoring mode has been developed exclusively to detect cyber-attacks, employee operational errors and anomalies within the industrial network. Through event logging and data analysis, an incident investigation system helps assess the cyber security of industrial facilities. All prevention and detection technologies can be managed via a central administration console.
