Datalogic complements the Laser Sentinel family of safety laser scanners with the SLS-SA5 stand-alone model. The SLS-SA5 is the user-oriented solution for the safe monitoring of two-dimensional areas. It has all the necessary functions to solve static horizontal and vertical applications, for example in robot cells, safeguarding machine environments and machine openings. The Sentinel also covers dynamic applications in driverless transport systems and on forklift trucks. Thanks to its optical properties and signal filtering, it is reliable in industrial environments where dust, dirt or light interference are unavoidable. Protected areas can be created by defining protected areas whose shape and dimensions are created according to the risk analyses for a machine. Users must take into account the position of the danger point, the shape of the machine and its immediate surroundings and the time required to stop a dangerous approach. The new Laser Sentinel meets these requirements: dynamic switching between up to six different safety zones, programming of reference points for use in vertical applications and the integration of muting functions. It is certified according to the latest European standard safety guidelines in compliance with the Machinery Directive under the supervision and control of the independent TÜV Süd. Laser Sentinel is also cULus listed for Canada and the USA.
