Schurter presents the watertight IEC appliance coupler consisting of the appliance plug type 4761 and the connectable appliance inlet type 4762. With a degree of protection of IP67 or IP69K, the connector is particularly suitable for supplying power to devices in harsh environments. The push/pull plug system enables simple operation and at the same time prevents the connection cable from being pulled out. The shape and blue color of the actuator suggest the direction of pull-out. The design is based on the international IEC and UL/CSA 60320 standards, but the special arrangement of the contacts prevents conventional mains cables from being plugged in. This ensures both IP protection and pull-out protection. In addition, the plug connection can be temporarily immersed in water and can also be cleaned with high-pressure cleaners and hot water. The appliance plug is available with soldered or plug-in connections, while the appliance socket is fitted with conventional screw terminals. VDE and UL/CSA approvals are available for the watertight plug connection. The maximum operating temperature is specified as +120 °C.
