At Hannover Messe 2016, ABB presented the 'Smart Sensor' for predictive maintenance of low-voltage motors for the first time. The sensor is attached to the outside of the motor and provides information on important operating parameters such as vibrations, temperature or overload and also determines the energy consumption with an accuracy of ± 10%.
