A brief portrait of Helmut Schmid and the company Universal Robots
Helmut Schmid is Managing Director of Universal Robots (Germany) GmbH and Regional Sales Director for Western and Northern Europe. He initially joined Universal Robots in February 2016 as General Manager Western Europe and was responsible for the expansion of the rapidly growing core markets DACH and Benelux. Under his leadership, a German subsidiary was founded in the fall of 2016, which took Universal Robots' previous success in Western Europe into account. Since December 2019, his area of responsibility has also included the Northern European market.
The experienced Managing Director will continue to focus his work on expanding the market presence of the pioneer in human-robot collaboration, expanding services and product training and continuously expanding the UR team in Western and Northern Europe.
Schmid has been a board member for the Robotics and Automation division of the VDMA since October 2018.
