With the Motosense vision system, Yaskawa offers a solution for adaptive robot welding. The system enables seam detection and seam tracking on programmed welding paths in real time. The camera system eliminates the need for absolute positioning of the components. The system can be used for MIG/MAG, TIG and plasma welding technologies and can process various materials including stainless steels and aluminum. The complete solution offers a flexible platform consisting of the Motosense image processing module, an image processing controller and an interface to the Yaskawa 'DX' robot controller.
