Autovimation presents a flexible IP66 stereo vision system. The stereo vision kit consists of an additional electronics box that calculates the stereo image from two USB cameras with FPGA support. The output provides a stereo image or a point cloud, which is transmitted to a PC via Ethernet. The system works with ambient light, but additional light sources or pattern projectors can also be added. According to the supplier, one advantage over conventional stereo sensors is that users have full control over the system; stereo width (distance between the two cameras), camera resolution, lens and working distance can be configured by the user. A LAN and trigger/power cable are required for connection. The system can be mounted together with the two cameras on the provider's dovetail profiles.
