06 - KEB Automation: Embedded controller based on Linux
The 'C6 Compact 3' controller from KEB Automation is suitable for the automation of applications with low to medium complexity. Its control concept is based on the Linux operating system and offers an open microservice architecture. Various software functions can be integrated and organized using Docker technology. The system uses the latest multicore technology and real-time-capable motion control, programmable via IEC 61131. The controller can be used for various tasks in addition to actual machine automation: For example, as a gateway between a higher-level control system and a programmable control system with KEB motion functionality. An OPC UA server (in future also TSN) serves as an interface. The controller can also be used as an HMI server device. It implements communication with one or more 3rd party systems and enables browsers to make content available via an HMI server.
