06 - TWK Electronics: Inductive displacement transducers with IO-Link
IO-Link is now also available for TWK's inductive displacement transducers. Their modular design allows the actual displacement transducer to be combined with the IO-Link electronics module IEIO25, which complements the range of 'IE25' electronics modules with SSI and CANopen interface. The models IW10 (up to 8 mm measuring stroke), IW101 (up to 15 mm) and IW120 (up to 200 mm) are available as displacement transducers. A cable with an M8 connector is used to establish the connection to the IEIO25 module, which can be placed a few meters away and communicates with the IO-Link master via the 3-wire cable with an M12 connector. The IEIO25 scans the coil system of the position sensor and transmits the position value via IO-Link with 12-bit resolution and a cycle time of less than 5 ms. In addition, further bytes for the controller temperature and, in the event of an error, an error bit are transmitted via the process data. The controller can execute a position preset or load the default values via the control byte (output data of the master).
