B&R - Integrated vision system with smart camera:
B&R is expanding its integrated vision system with a smart camera that links a variety of image processing tasks easily and in real time. For example, if different product versions are manufactured simultaneously on a machine, the Smart Camera can check which version it is and whether the packaging print is correct with just one image. One function provides the necessary feedback for downstream functions. As the process variables of the controller are seamlessly integrated into these processes, decisions can be derived from them in real time.
The application manufacturer wires the individual image processing functions of the smart camera virtually in a graphical editor, eliminating the need for time-consuming programming work. According to the manufacturer, even complex tasks can be linked within a few minutes and synchronized with the processes of a control system.
The Smart Camera has the same hardware options as the company's Smart Sensor. Various integrated lenses or a housing variant with a standard C-mount thread are available. The other options include various integrated lighting, FPGA image pre-processing and image sensors from 1.3 to 5.3 megapixels.
