The AS-i FSoE Gateway BWU3509 with integrated safety monitor (FSoE stands for Safety over Ethercat) is a new addition to the Bihl+Wiedemann range. It acts as a safety master in the network and can take over all safety-related tasks without an additional safe controller. The usual PLC can still be used for standard drive control. As a single master in the '1 gateway, 1 power supply unit for 2 AS-i circuits' version, the AS-i Safety Gateway has three two-channel safe inputs and can be supplemented by up to 31 two-channel safe inputs. Also onboard as standard are six fast electronic safe outputs, which can be expanded to a maximum of 32 independent safe outputs. The gateway is also AS-i Power 24V-capable and is therefore also suitable for use in compact systems. An additional AS-i power supply unit is not required. Last but not least, the integrated chip card makes it easy to replace devices.
