With the explosion-proof Ex d enclosure technology EXpressure, R. Stahl offers an alternative to conventional enclosure encapsulation. The ATEX and IECEx-certified enclosure series is equipped with a special pressure relief system: stainless steel wire mesh ensures a flameproof, efficient pressure reduction with controlled gas flow and heat absorption. This reduces the internal pressure measured in the event of an explosion to a maximum value of less than 1 bar. Ignitable sparks cannot escape to the outside due to the special fabric structure. The pressure relief technology approved as Ex d enables wall thicknesses of just 2 mm and, according to the supplier, saves up to 50% weight and 25% space compared to conventional Ex d solutions in flameproof enclosures. The stainless steel enclosures with 'EXpressure' technology are available in four enclosure sizes from 300 mm x 400 mm x 200 mm to 1000 mm x 1400 mm x 700 mm. The IP66-rated enclosures are also available in both single-door and double-door versions.
