Mayr Antriebstechnik offers safety brakes that are equipped for the challenges of Industry 4.0. Modules such as Roba-brake-checker and Roba-torqcontrol, which monitor safety brakes and enable the smooth and gentle deceleration of machines and devices, provide support here. The "Roba-brake-checker" module works without sensors. Instead, it detects the movement of the armature plate by analyzing the current and voltage and knows what state the brake is in. In addition to the switching status, the module can also draw conclusions about temperature, wear and traction reserve, i.e. whether the magnet still has enough force to attract the armature disk. When the tensile force reserve is reached, the module sends a warning signal at such an early stage that a certain operating time of the brake is still possible. The "Roba-brake-checker" is currently available in a version for alternating voltage; in a further version, the module will also take over the brake supply in future and thus replace the rectifier. The "Roba-torqcontrol" braking torque control module is available for applications that require braking torque control in addition to condition monitoring. It shares the characteristics of the "Roba-brake-checker" and can also change the level of braking torque during operation by selectively influencing the current and voltage. Appliances and machines can thus be decelerated evenly and gently.
