Schurter is expanding its PCAP controller portfolio to include the Maxtouch controller family from Microchip (formerly Atmel). With these chip solutions, the company can meet further customer-specific requirements, especially if Microchip/Atmel components are already being used in the applications. It does not matter whether it is a standard or a customized solution in small or large quantities. PCAP controllers can be programmed according to customer requirements. With the controller family, the supplier has developed its own chip-on-flex solution, in which the chip is fitted directly onto the connection lug of the touch sensor. This enables identical features as a separate controller board, but with a more cost-effective and compact design. In addition to PCAP sensors, the controllers can also be used to evaluate capacitive buttons.
