The revised version 2.8 of the ISG-virtuos simulation system - an open platform for digital twins - will be presented by ISG Industrielle Steuerungstechnik. According to the provider, this shortens time-to-market and reduces commissioning time by up to 90 %. An intuitive user interface helps to configure the system simulation in 3D with the help of a manufacturer-independent component library. In version 2.8, digital twins can be set up seamlessly from model and software to real-time deterministic hardware-in-the-loop simulations. Based on this open platform with standardized integration mechanisms for virtual components in libraries, with virtualized controllers from various manufacturers as well as specialized simulation solutions from third-party providers, it is possible to develop customized simulation solutions. The system test as a hardware-in-the-loop simulation with a fieldbus cycle of 1 ms, for example, allows statements to be made about performance, taking into account all components and assemblies, right through to factory simulation. By automating test sequences with ISG-dirigent, the quality of the control software can also be optimized at an early stage. With this test automation tool (TAW), machine and plant manufacturers are able to carry out numerous automated component, integration and system tests using digital twins on real control systems. Multi-channel technology enables synchronous control of machine and robot axes.
