With the 3KF product range, Siemens has developed switch-disconnectors with fuses for currents of up to 800 A. Together with the switch-disconnectors from the '3KD' series, which can switch currents of up to 1600 A, the company says that its 'Sentron' portfolio now covers almost the entire product range for low-voltage power distribution. The modular devices are suitable for both AC and DC environments. Switch-disconnectors protect users from electrical accidents during maintenance and installation work in switch cabinets. If required, locks can be hooked into the front or side drives to prevent unauthorized switching. The switches are available in five sizes in three- and four-pole versions. They comply with the IEC 60947-3 standard for low-voltage switchgear and the device-specific EC directives for product safety. The switch-disconnector features protective devices such as terminal covers that prevent live parts from being touched. The status of the fuses is visible through transparent contact covers. Clip-on phase separation walls protect against flashovers. An optional fuse monitoring system reports blown fuses so that an immediate response is possible. All device variants can be mounted on mounting plates.
