In summer 2018, 'CIMON' will accompany the German astronaut Alexander Gerst on the 'Horizon' mission to the International Space Station ISS and support him in carrying out experiments, procedures and repairs. The "face" of 'CIMON' will move at eye level with the astronaut and relieve him. With the robot assistant, the astronaut can have both hands free and does not have to operate a computer manually. Thanks to the fully voice-controlled access to documents and media, the astronaut can "comfortably" navigate through operating and repair instructions and procedures for experiments and systems. 'CIMON' thus serves as a complex database with all the necessary information for work on the ISS and can also be used as a mobile camera for documentation purposes.
