Baumüller launches the scalable b maXX 6000 generation of servo drives. Newly developed safety functionalities shorten the cycle times of machines. The servo drive can also be used as a sensor or sensor hub and offers scalable IoT connectivity, for example via an edge PC in the cloud. According to the company, intelligent functions from its own 'SmartValue' software toolkit help to improve the energy balance in production and reduce manufacturing costs. An integrated temperature model monitors important components in the power section. According to the provider, this function optimizes the use of resources and reduces energy consumption during operation. There are also new features in terms of device dimensions: in addition to the space-saving baying technology (b maXX 6300), the mono devices (b maXX 6500) are also more compact, making smaller set-ups possible.
