With the 'DFM - Digital Freeform Multisensor Technology' project, Jumo says it is looking to the future of plastic sensor technology. The focus here is on a so-called modular system in which sensors for various measured variables such as temperature, humidity, pressure or force are installed in a plastic housing. The modules supply themselves with energy by means of energy harvesting. The sensor signals are transmitted wirelessly via a Bluetooth interface. Up to 16 such sensor modules can then be connected to a gateway receiver. The first development using this technology is currently in preparation for the addition of a DFM module to the existing 'Plastosens T04' pipe contact sensors. Up to three pipe contact sensors could then be operated without auxiliary power using a module that transmits the measurement signals wirelessly.
