Flexible assembly for automotive production with industrial cobots: The robot system from the 'Flaair' team performs force-based assembly of flexible polymer seals on a car door. Thanks to a CAD2PATH tool that creates new trajectories by intuitively drawing on a CAD model surface, the system can be adapted to new door models within 15 minutes. A two-stage safety system smoothly pauses the robot movement when a human approaches and ensures a smooth restart when the work area is clear.
