With the SeelectorIcam Laser quality assurance system, users of remote laser welding now have a fully automatic inspection system at their disposal. It is integrated directly into the laser remote scanner and records images after each individual weld in order to evaluate them immediately and provide a strength assessment when the component is completed. The monitoring system's HDR camera looks through the laser's optics at each completed weld and takes images - meaning that the weld seam is evaluated directly from the live image. Special image processing algorithms evaluate the images in the camera, ensuring the required speed of evaluation. The result is a statement about the strength of the weld seam and the weld is analyzed immediately after the laser power is lowered. This enables an overall statement (IO/NIO) to be made directly after the last weld on the component, as well as the visualization of defects and defect types for reworking. The analyzed data is transferred to the host computer and NOK parts are ejected automatically.
